Have you ever sent a gift card that ended up forgotten in a drawer, or wanted to give cash but couldn’t be there in person? That is what bothered Nicola Claxton enough to get her asking: what’s a happier and more impactful way to send cash?
In 2022, she founded Emoot.
A way to send money that feels like a gift again. Every transfer becomes personal again, keeping the intention behind the gift. With photos, videos, voice notes, and messages, it becomes expressive and intentional.
Emoot is not just about moving money. It is about making giving feel meaningful, helping people support each other’s goals, and turning everyday transfers into moments that feel good to send and receive.

Is Emoot 100% Canadian?
Yes! All company founders and executive are Canadian, our head office is in Vancouver BC, and Emoot operates only in Canada. Emoot is the trade name for Happy.Path Ventures Incorporated. We were incorporated in British Columbia Canada in 2022 - business number 736999707. Emoot has received funding from NRC-IRAP, which is only awarded to Canadian companies, and through the SR&ED Innovation Investment Tax Credit, which only reimburses work performed by Canadians, in Canada.
