How do I create and send an Emoot?

Where can I see the Emoots I have sent and/or received?

In the Navigation bar, select Dashboard and switch between tabs to see your Sent and Received Emoots. This tutorial video will show you how.

How does my gift recipient receive their Emoot?

Your giftee will receive an email notification from Emoot with instructions. Here is a tutorial video to show you the steps.

Does my giftee have to pay anything to receive their Emoot?

No, emoots are always free for the giftee to receive.

For how long is Emoot History saved so I can replay my Emoots?

Emoot History will be saved for as long as you have an active account.

Can I download an Emoot greeting to save or print?

We haven’t built this into our app but you may be able to use a screenshot to capture / record your Emoot.

My media is too large to upload. What should I do?

Emoot allows for different media types (videos and images) to be uploaded but a limitation on file size, if your file is too large you can try exporting to a lower quality and/or resolution or trimming down the length.

Are Emoots private and only viewable to me and my Giftee?

Emoot does not share or use your digital greeting in any way other than its intended use. We reserve the right to review content that is illegal, inappropriate or has been brought to our attention by the Giftee. See our Terms of Use.

EMOOT GIFTED FUNDS & PRICING

Can I send an Emoot outside of Canada?

All Gifters and Giftees must have a Canadian bank account in order to use Interac e-Transfer® services.

How much money can I send in an Emoot?

Our limit for an Emoot gift is $3000, but your financial institution may have a lower limit based on your account with them. Please contact your financial institution with any Interac e-Transfer® limit inquiries.

How will my giftee receive the money sent via Emoot?

Your Giftee (Emoot recipient) will receive the money through Interac e-Transfer®, the deposit notification will be sent to the giftee’s email.

Is Emoot a gift card or prepaid card?

Neither! Emoot funds are sent through Interac e-Transfer®. We may offer other methods of gift amount transfer in the future.

What is included in the Emoot fee?

Our pricing is separated into the 1) Emoot digital greeting message which includes the message creation, sending and storage, and 2) the payment processing, and the Interac e-Transfer® fee which covers the cost for the Gifter’s payment processing and fund transfer.

Does my Giftee have to pay anything to receive or spend an Emoot?

No. The Giftee does not pay anything.

How does paying with Interac® work?

Emoot uses Interac e-transfer® Request Money services to let you send your gifted funds and make payment. This tutorial video show you how it works.

Can I schedule an Emoot to be sent on a specific date?

How long will it take for my giftee to receive their Emoot?

Emoots are sent as soon as your payment is completed. Once the Emoot has been opened, the Interac e-Transfer® will be sent. The timing for the Giftee to receive the Interac e-Transfer® varies depending on the Giftee’s financial institution.

How long until the Interac e-Transfer® expires?

Giftees have 7 days to accept the Interac e-Transfer®. After 7 days if the Emoot is not accepted then the transfer is cancelled and the gifted funds will be returned to the Gifter minus the Emoot fees.

Will I be notified once my giftee has opened the Emoot?

You can track the progress of your Emoot on your Dashboard sent and received tabs. Status definitions are:

Is there an Emoot app?

Emoot is a Web application you can access like a Website, from any device. We are mobile-first, meaning you will see the best format and performance from a smartphone or tablet.

Why do I need an account to create and send an Emoot?

An account is required to allow for secure Interac e-Transfer® transactions. It also lets you keep your Emoot History where you can view and replay all the Emoots you Send and Receive.

Does my Giftee need an Emoot account to receive an Emoot?

Yes, but don’t worry, this is easy, free, and quick: Create Account

Can I change my email address for my account?

Yes, but you will need our help to do this. Please contact support@emoot.io.

How does Emoot use my profile information?

Your profile information is for the purposes of sending and receiving Emoot digital greetings and gift cash. Emoot does not share this information for any other purpose. See our Privacy Policy for more information.

SECURITY & SUPPORT

How secure is Emoot for sending money?

Emoot does not see, collect or store your banking information. This information is secure through Interac’s e-Transfer® service.
